Frequently asked questions
Q. When should we book a photographer/Videographer?
A: I suggest looking into booking your photographer/videographer as soon as you have your date figured out. Most couples book within three days of inquiring with me.
Q: What do your wedding packages include?
A: This is all covered on my pricing page, so check here real quick. All of my wedding photography packages include delivery of high resolution professionally edited digital files in an on-line gallery. There are additional options such as engagement sessions, custom delivery options, bridal sessions, and additional hours of coverage.
All of my videography packages include delivery of professionally produced and edited cinematic wedding footage along with edits specified in the packages (see pricing). Additional options to video packages include obtaining all RAW footage, upgrading to 4K resolution, and custom delivery options. Feel free to ask for more details or suggest a custom package. I love getting creative with packages!
Q: DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
A: Definitely! Most venues these days won't allow photographers to shoot there without insurance.
Q: DO WE RECEIVE ALL OF THE FILES?
A: Definitely not, you don't want that! I generally end up with around 2,000-5,000 images following a wedding. A good portion of them are unusable images ... out of focus, overexposed or uninteresting. There are a lot of practice frames from throughout the day. It's my job to cull through these images and select the images that do the best job of cohesively telling your story.
Videography customers do have the option to add all RAW footage to their package. This will be all of the footage form when the camera was rolling and is not meant to be watched together, but some customers like the opportunity to try their own hand at editing. It is important to note this will not be all day footage, as there will be lots of times when the cameras are off. We don’t record people eating, or sitting around doing nothing.
Q: DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE SHOOTING IN DIFFERENT LIGHTING SITUATIONS?
A: Yes! I am comfortable working in all types of lighting conditions. I can use available light (my favorite), or I have the ability to work with flash or other constant light sources.
Q: HOW LONG UNTIL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTO GALLERY?
A: I share preview images and video and sometimes a small gallery in the days after your wedding. The full gallery of all images are typically ready in 7-8 weeks for weddings and 2-3 weeks for engagement photos/bridal sessions. You’ll receive your photos through a link to your gallery for viewing, downloading, sharing and ordering prints.
Q: HOW MANY HOURS DO WE NEED TO BOOK YOU FOR?
A: I suggest having me there around three hours prior to your ceremony, the length of time required after the ceremony depends on how much you two will have happening and what all you would like captured. This is something that we can definitely discuss in detail as it pertains to your specific wedding day!
Q: WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON TAKING BREAKS? IF YOU REQUIRE A MEAL BREAK, DO YOU REQUIRE THAT WE PROVIDE YOUR MEAL? DO YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES?
A: We try to stay busy during the whole day, but a wedding day is long and takes a lot of energy. In order to keep us from fainting (jk- we don’t faint at weddings), we do ask that we are provided a meal on your wedding day. No food allergies to worry about. We eat when you and your guests eat - we won’t miss any important shots, and will be ready to go for photos during the reception.
Q: WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU TYPICALLY BRING WITH YOU ON THE DAY-OF?
A: This more than anything depends on the type of package (photography, videography, or both) that you booked. Our kit is extensive, consisting of multiple camera bodies, a slew of lenses for different purposes (we mostly shoot with prime lenses but do keep a couple zoom lenses around for more dynamic settings), a professional drone to capture aerial footage, microphones, lights, stabilizers, and other goodies. Each wedding is different and each location and couple has different preferences and unique needs. We will talk through all of this once we start planning your day!
